Utility trailers are more economical and affordable to maintain and keep up with than your regular monster trucks or even one of those large commercial ones. They are just the right things for homeowners who need to haul equipment around the place occasionally, or for campers who are always on the go. One such utility trailer would be the toy hauler or the sports utility trailer.
What exactly is a Toy hauler?
A sports utility trailer, commonly known, as the toy hauler is a type of motor home, travel trailer or fifth wheeler that is designed to allow recreational vehicle enthusiasts to get their ‘toys’ like motorcycles, snowmobiles or ATV’s along for the outdoor adventure.
Its basic setup consists of two distinct parts - in the front is the living space while towards the rear end is the storage or garage space. Towards the beginning, it was only what you would call a regional success, and was started by the West Coast builders because of their active trailer camping lifestyles. The freedom to carry cargo - from dirt bikes to Harleys or sand rails - has now captivated the imagination of most of the Westerners and is now slowly spreading towards Middle America. All of a sudden, every RV builder will find himself thrown right into the game.
These days, however, travelers are now demanding more amenities, as a result of which a revolutionary movement has sprung up that demand for nicer appointments for the human race. As the balance between machines and man continues, we have now entered a whole new phase - the sports utility trailer - evolution where it now appears that practically any trailer can now transport gear.
We are now witnessing the birth of lightweight trailers and fold-down campers and ingenious methods of equipping the exterior as well as the interior with ramps and a garage area. When at one time travel trailers and fifth wheels dominated the sports utility trailer market, today we make way for the lightweights, ultra-lights and the pop-ups. This will surely come as great news for those of you who are interested in towing along their motorized vehicles without spending loads of money on a monster truck!
Is a Toy Hauler the right RV for you?
When you are out there searching for the right recreational vehicle, then how do you know whether or not a toy hauler is the right RV for you? Well, it all depends on what your road trip plans are actually. For instance, if you are planning on an expedition and want to enjoy a whole day of activities that may require other additional vehicles to be hauled along like ATV’s or snowmobiles, then a toy hauler is probably the right thing for you.
What’s more, toy haulers make exceptionally good options for vendors who are require to transport goods or products to different places on a regular basis. If you happen to belong to any of these categories, then the toy hauler or the sports utility trailer was made just for people like you. If however, on the other hand, you cant foresee any use of these vehicles while you travel or go camping, then the toy hauler is probably the wrong choice for someone like you. At the end of the day, it’s all about personal choices!
